ELVeS (Endovenous Laser)

EndoLaser Vein System is an advanced technique that began in 2001. Unlike surface lasers which have several limitations, ELVeS literally heats the vessel from inside the vein. It is indicated for patients who have reverse blood flow (reflux) originating high in the leg at the sapheno-femoral junction. The most accurate way to make this diagnosis is by using colorflow duplex ultrasound. Patients with this reflux often have large varicose veins. The vessel is closed from the knee area to just below the junction. The procedure is done under local anesthesia and has a greater than 97% success rate.
